Welcome!
Meet Darice Funk, LMFT
Nurturing resilience, cultivating hope, and working together to create a new path forward.
You’re in the right place.
I’m here to help you and your family thrive.
For over two decades as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have helped adults, children, and families navigate life adjustments, emotional challenges, and systemic stressors. Grounded in Systems Theory, my approach recognizes that individual well-being is deeply shaped by our environments—from family dynamics to school and corporate work settings.
Whether helping an adult navigate major life transitions, supporting a parent, or guiding a child through emotional hurdles, my goal is to create an expert, objective space designed to disrupt unhelpful cycles and build lasting resilience. My clinical depth is uniquely informed by a previous decade-long career as a corporate director, giving me distinct insight into workplace stressors and modern adult life, alongside extensive experience managing intensive clinical caseloads, supervising associate clinicians, and developing school-based mental health programs. I hold an M.A. in Counseling Psychology and have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child Therapy, and Social Understanding and Communication.
By integrating evidence-based modalities—including CBT, Mindfulness, and Family Systems—with the developmentally precise frameworks of Play Therapy and Sand Tray, I provide tailored, collaborative support to help adults, children, and families establish long-term well-being.
My Approach
Empathy and connectivity inside therapy are just as important as empathy and connectivity outside therapy.
Therapy is a collaborative process designed to help adults, children, and families address emotional challenges, navigate major transitions, and break unhelpful patterns. By aligning individual care with broader family, workplace, and school systems, we build practical strategies that foster long-term stability and resilience.
Assessment: We begin with an initial consultation—whether for an individual adult, a parent, or a family—to evaluate current stressors, underlying dynamics, and personal goals. For children, this includes understanding their unique communication style and emotional needs.
Targeted Treatment Planning: Together, we set clear, actionable goals and map out a tailored approach. When addressing anxiety, OCD, or persistent fears, I integrate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—a proven strategy that helps adults and children face anxiety-inducing triggers gradually, breaking the cycle of avoidance and building genuine confidence.
Integrated Intervention: In a compassionate, secure space, we work to build vital emotional regulation skills, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and strengthen communication across relationships and family structures.
Systemic & Environmental Support: Lasting progress happens when therapy connects with daily life. Whether collaborating with schools to support a child’s academic environment or helping adults navigate workplace dynamics and family relationships, I ensure your care is seamlessly aligned across all settings.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
A practical, goal-oriented approach that explores the powerful connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. When you get stuck in negative or overwhelming cycles, CBT helps you hit the pause button. Together, we look at these patterns with curiosity, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and practice new strategies to build clarity and confidence.
Play Therapy
Children often experience big emotions they can't yet put into words. Where adults use talk therapy, children use play. This evidence-based approach uses their natural language—toys and expression—in a specialized space to help them process difficult experiences, communicate complex feelings, and build coping skills in the way that feels most natural to them.
Family Therapy
We are deeply shaped by our relationships, and this approach looks at the family as a whole system rather than focusing on one person. In a warm, neutral environment, we explore how everyone interacts and communicates, helping you disrupt stuck cycles so that every family member feels heard, valued, and connected.
