Welcome!

Meet Darice Funk, LMFT

Nurturing resilience, cultivating hope, and working together to create a new path forward.

You’re in the right place.

I’m here to help you and your family thrive.

For over two decades as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have helped children, adults, and families navigate life adjustments, emotional challenges, and systemic stressors. Grounded in Systems Theory, my approach recognizes that individual well-being is deeply shaped by our environments—from family dynamics to school and work settings.

A central pillar of my practice is bridging the gap between individual child therapy, family systems, and academic institutions to ensure seamless, integrated support. My clinical depth is uniquely informed by a previous decade-long career as a corporate director, as well as extensive experience managing intensive clinical caseloads, developing school-based mental health programs, supervising associate clinicians on their path to licensure, and developing school-based plans that promote social and emotional well-being.

By integrating evidence-based modalities—including CBT, Mindfulness, and Family Systems—with the developmentally precise frameworks of Play Therapy and Sand Tray, I provide an expert, objective space designed to disrupt unhelpful cycles, build vital coping skills, and establish long-term well being for your child and family.

My Approach

Empathy and connectivity inside therapy are just as important as empathy and connectivity outside therapy.

Therapy is a collaborative process designed to address emotional challenges, navigate developmental changes, and reshape family dynamics. By aligning individual care with broader family and school systems, we disrupt unhelpful patterns to establish long-term stability.

  • Systemic Assessment: We begin with a parent consultation to analyze family dynamics and history, followed by an initial individual session with your child to understand their unique communication style, emotional needs, and coping mechanisms.

  • Targeted Treatment Planning: Together, we set clear goals and create a tailored plan that balances focused individual therapy for your child with structural family support.

  • Integrated Intervention: In a secure, developmentally appropriate space, your child builds vital emotional regulation skills while family sessions focus on improving communication, building empathy, and resolving conflict.

  • School & Systemic Collaboration: To ensure lasting progress, I bridge the gap between home and school. By collaborating with educators and aligning behavioral strategies, we make sure your child feels seamlessly supported in both environments.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

A practical, goal-oriented approach that explores the powerful connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. When you get stuck in negative or overwhelming cycles, CBT helps you hit the pause button. Together, we look at these patterns with curiosity, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and practice new strategies to build clarity and confidence.

Play Therapy

Children often experience big emotions they can't yet put into words. Where adults use talk therapy, children use play. This evidence-based approach uses their natural language—toys and expression—in a specialized space to help them process difficult experiences, communicate complex feelings, and build coping skills in the way that feels most natural to them.

Family Therapy

We are deeply shaped by our relationships, and this approach looks at the family as a whole system rather than focusing on one person. In a warm, neutral environment, we explore how everyone interacts and communicates, helping you disrupt stuck cycles so that every family member feels heard, valued, and connected.
